Exhibitions, Events, Artist’s Studios & Art Workshops
Loftus Arts is a developing arts venue, providing artists’ studios, a gallery, an events
and performance space and workshops resources.
ExploreArtists’ Studios
Our studios have been created with the intention of nurturing a supportive creative community within which professional artists can share opportunities, ideas and feel connected to others. Resident artists form their own artists council to support each other and co-ordinate opportunities and events.
Our resident artists organise an annual exhibition in our gallery alongside their own programme of activities.

Borderlands Truck Art: A Vibrant Journey Comes to Loftus Studios
Loftus Studios launches 2026 in spectacular colour with Borderlands Truck Art, a bold and joyful exhibition celebrating creativity, heritage and collaboration.
Inspired by the richly decorated truck art of Pakistan, the exhibition features striking painted panels designed by communities in Middlesbrough, as well as a specially created TukTuk, blending traditional motifs with contemporary stories from across borders.
Running from 9th to 22nd February. Visitors can interact with the exhibition 10:00–15:00, Thursday–Saturday during the first week, and Monday–Saturday during Half Term.
Entry is free and includes access to a creative workshop, offering deeper insight into the stories, symbolism and collaborations behind the work.
Workshops, Clubs & Classes
Our workshops and events space can be hired for artists running classes and clubs.
From single workshops, through to 6 week courses, we have a growing number of activities that will be available to book for all ages in drawing, ceramics, painting, dance and film.
“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way –things I had no words for.”
